RAMP is excited to announce Wrightslaw Training with Pete Wright, Esq. in conjunction with Special Education & Transition Resource Expo on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Faranda’s, 302 Grove Street in DeKalb, Illinois. Training is from 9:00am until 4:30pm with registration beginning at 8:00am. The Special Education & Transition Resource Expo is a FREE event for the community available from 4:30pm-7:00pm. Visit with local agencies and programs that serve young children and youth with disabilities. Families and students can educate themselves on what is available in our community. All attendees will receive a “passport” to have stamped at each station. Upon completing the passport attendees will be entered into a drawing to win prizes from the exhibitors.
Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Training programs are designed to meet the needs of parents, advocates, attorneys, educators, health care providers, and others who represent the interests of children with disabilities and their families. Pete Wright, perhaps the most well-known special education attorney and advocate, will present on special education law, rights and responsibilities, tests and measurements to measure progress & regression and SMART IEPs.
