            REGIONAL ACCESS  & MOBILIZATION PROJECT

Regional Access & Mobilization Project (RAMP) is North Central Illinois' Center for Independent Living. RAMP's mission is to promote an accessible society that allows and expects full participation by people with disabilities.

RAMP is based upon "peers assisting peers". Accordingly, 51% or more of the staff and Board of Directors of RAMP are people with disabilities.

To accurately represent the relationship between staff and the  people we serve, those who use RAMP's services are referred to as consumers, rather than as clients. We will not do things to foster dependence on us or anyone else. Rather, we expect our consumers to actively participate in the process of meeting their needs and ultimately learning to do for themselves.
